Epics DAO Announces Redesign of Solana NFT Card Game

2025.06.29
ELSOUL LABO B.V. (Headquarters: Amsterdam, Netherlands; CEO: Fumitake Kawasaki) and Epics DAO are pleased to announce a significant redesign of their NFT card game. This update introduces an enhanced card design and a completely new Energy system, greatly improving gameplay strategy and user experience.

NFT Card Game Design Renewal

In June 2025, Epics DAO significantly updated the NFT card game’s design.
A key focus of this redesign was the "Energy" system, an important yet subtle element in card game mechanics that significantly influences gameplay pacing and strategic depth. Previous designs raised concerns about potential complexity for new players.
To address this, Epics DAO introduces a new system where "every card can be an Energy source."
At the beginning of each turn, players can use a new phase known as the "Praying Phase" (tentative name), allowing them to place one card from their hand onto the field as an Energy source. This card can no longer be used for regular play but serves solely as an Energy provider based on its indicated Energy value. This change introduces critical strategic choices, enhancing the depth of gameplay by requiring careful selection of cards for combat and energy management.
Additionally, card readability has improved through clearer display of Attack and Defense values.

Recent Developments in the Solana Platform

Epics DAO, in collaboration with Validators DAO—the successors of solv—has significantly enhanced the Solana platform to address challenges identified during development. As a result, one of the fastest real-time Solana data streaming infrastructures has been established across key global regions.
The platform anticipates completing UI improvements and cryptocurrency payment integrations by this summer, after which full focus will shift to game platform development. This infrastructure ensures high performance and stable game operation.

Revamp of the Epics Platform

The current Epics platform, utilizing Google Cloud and Firebase, is transitioning to Cloudflare’s edge-based infrastructure to enhance performance and resolve operational challenges. This move has already demonstrated significant regional performance improvements during ERPC UI development.
Moreover, Epics DAO is proactively transitioning its development environment to Solana v2, aiming to accelerate performance enhancements and future development speed.
